With Christmas just one day away, I successfully completed all the custom ornament orders that came in before the holiday rush. That left me with just enough time to work on something for myself—a custom hanging door sign. With one day to spare, I jumped at the chance to cut, paint, and add some seasonal bling to my creation.
This project was a first in many ways, from experimenting with new painting methods and materials to improvising my approach to decoration. The real adventure came when I ventured into Michaels to pick out decorative bling. Imagine me, someone more at home in a tackle shop, wandering through aisles of glittering crafts. I was completely out of my comfort zone but couldn’t help being swept away by ideas—this bling, that bling, and all the possibilities!
After a bit of trial and error, the door sign came together beautifully. I hung it up today with glee, and it looks fantastic! I’m proud of how it turned out and excited about the process. This experience has me looking forward to creating more custom door signs for others in the future.
